Its been almost four years that I have been away from home .. 3 years of graduation and and almost a year in post graduation… but I have never had such a great birthday as I had this year on the 15^th of April. I know its late writing it down but I couldn’t help it. Some how I had been a bit busy for the past two days with my acads and now that I have found some time and also taking a short break from studies, I thought i’d not find a better time to express my thoughts. Its very usual for me to sleep late night so here I am awake in midst of the night sitting by my window, watching the stars twinkle, listening to the still voices of the night, enjoying the cool breeze.

The 15^th of April, 2008 has become one of the most memorable days of my life. It had brought with it a no. of surprises which made me happier than I thought I would have been. It was exactly 1 min to 12 am when my cell phone rang.. it was my mom, dad n sis .. calling to wish me.. It was my 4^th birthday away from them but it has always been a pleasure for me to get the very first wishes from them. The next call was the most awaited call exactly at 12 am. On the other hand my rummies Avani and Geeno were in my rum to wish me carrying a sweet little birthday cake .. my favourite cake.. the Blackforest.. know something , they were having there semester exams the next day but still they had got a cake to celebrate the occasion. I have never been pampered so much I am being pampered now. I am so lucky to have them as my rummies. I cut the cake.. took some snaps enjoyed together… My cell phone kept ringing.. one call after the other. I had never expected that my friend from VIT would remember my birthday and call me.. I even got calls from my classmates at SICSR. I was in a very good mood. But it was soon shadowed by the feeling of urge to study ‘cause I had a java test in the morning. As usual I went to sleep round 3 am but I again woke up at 6 am by a phone call from a childhood friend of mine. Its was aain morning and the phone calls kept coming.. Went to college like a usual day, attended classes , went to the temple and came back home in the afternoon. I didn’t know that there was a surprise waiting for me at the college again.. I got a call from my classmate that I was expected to be in college ‘cause they had got a cake for my birthday celebration. The evening was again a very memorable one indeed. It could not have been better in any way.. an Ultimate evening , an unexpected gift .. every thing filled my life with all the joy and happiness I had desired for but had never got in the past three years. I felt I was on the cloud no. 9… The quotation I often quote “ EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED” .. its very true ..atleast for me.

There are a no. of occasions when we expect something, but don’t get them which makes us sad and disheartened. But there are also times when we expect the least and get lot more than our expectation… that makes us feel happy and delighted. From my past experienced I have learned that we should not expect anything from anyone so that if we get something we are happy but won’t be sad if we don’t get it ‘cause nothing worse than that could have happened.
