Wandering In my thoughts.

   Posted by: krity   in Self-composed

I lay on my bed, wide awake,
in the middle of the night.
Staring at the wall clock
ticking each second.

Waiting for the sleep to take me into its possession.
Wating for my eyelids to drop,
Waiting for pleasant thoughts to fill my mind

Drifting into a world where I live on my own terms,
Seeing the person of whom I often think ,
the person whom I love from deep down my heart,
Watching him stand with open arms,
inviting me into them.

Feeling his presence and warmth beside me,
The presence that makes me feel so secure.
Forgetting all chaos and tensions in life
With whom I can be myself,
With whom I can share my feelings,
Who understands the reason
behind every frown of mine

Waiting for the person who will be my friend,
philosopher and guide,
Who is sensetive and kind,
Who is loving and caring with a beautiful mind

… Wondering when these thoughts will turn to reality,
Not realising when my eyelids dropped.
Not realising when my imaginations transformed to dream..

Blogcamppune 2 : 27th June, 2009

Posted by: krity   in Events, My experiences

After a long wait of about 2 years, Pune had its 2nd edition of blogcamp. The success of barcamp pune 5 as a freecamp” encouraged the (un)organisers to have the 2nd edition of Blogcamp in pune without sponsership, i.e another freecamp. The camp again turned out to be successful with a good turnout. There was a lot of participation by the non-technical bloggers.

The venue for the Blogcamp was SICSR (My college). The best thing about it is that Mr. Harshad Gune, (a professor at SICSR) is very very cooperative.

The preparation of the Blogcamp Pune 2 had started about a month back. It began with the deciding of the final dates. The mailing list helped us a lot in communicating with each other.. Its almost unbelievable that email communication would help us so much in organizing things.

I was involved in designing the logo, probably liked by quite a good number. It really feels good when the work done is appreciated by people.final-logo-2
The Final Logo for the BlogCamp Pune 2

The event started just like the other unconferences with an introduction by the attendees and unorganisers. The sessions were divided into 2 parallel threads.

The event was very thought provoking and also involved speakers who were totally from a non-technical background. We got a lot of ideas about “what the blog could be made popular”, “How the blog can generate revenue for us” etc, etc. It was also a good medium to grow our contacts. By doing so, I came to know a lot of people from pune as well as from Mumbai, eventually becoming friends.

The event was also followed by a lot of enjoyment like having snacks and tea at Navin and Meetu’s place with a lot of new friends from Mumbai, followed by a party at the Corianthian club. We missed u a lot Tarun, Ankesh and Abhishekh.
Overall, Blogcamppune 2 was a great experience.

A New Dimension to Life

   Posted by: krity   in Thoughts

I have been a very quite person from my childhood and never became angry very easily but due so certain circumstances, for the past few months I have noticed had I get angry and voilent very soon and often react in a way I shouldn’d have done. My friend noticed this behavior of  mine and gave me a few page writeup to read. The write-up was so thought provoking and impressive that it made me think what I was doing was wrong and at some point I was only responsible for whatever wrong was happening with me.

I would like to write about the article in brief, which was a reason for changing my way of thinking.. I am really thankful to you dear friend for showing me a new dimension to life.

The Author :  Stephen Covey calls it “The 90/10 Principle”. He says that ” The way one reacts to certain situation changes whatever happens in the minutes that follow.
What does the 90/10 principle mean.. It means that 90% of what happens to us is the consequence of how we react to certain situation and only 10% is not controlled by us.

Here is an example of something that could happen to you beause of your reaction

The Author: Stephen Covey has quoted the example

“You are eating breakfast with your family. Your daughter knocks over a cup of coffee onto your business shirt. You have no control over what just happened.
What happens next will be determined by how you react.

You curse.

You harshly scold your daughter for knocking the cup over. She breaks down in tears. After scolding her, you turn to your spouse and criticize her for placing the cup too close to the edge of the table. A short verbal battle follows. You storm upstairs and change your shirt. Back downstairs, you find your daughter has been too busy crying to finish breakfast and get ready for school. She misses the bus.

Your spouse must leave immediately for work. You rush to the car and drive your daughter to school. Because you are late, you drive 40 miles an hour in a 30 mph speed limit.
After a 15-minute delay and throwing $60 traffic fine away, you arrive at school. Your daughter runs into the building without saying goodbye. After arriving at the office 20 minutes late, you find you forgot your briefcase. Your day has started terrible. As it continues, it seems to get worse and worse. You look forward to coming home.

When you arrive home, you find small wedge in your relationship with your spouse and daughter.
Why? …. Because of how you reacted in the morning.
Why did you have a bad day?
A) Did the coffee cause it?
B) Did your daughter cause it?
C) Did the policeman cause it?
D) Did you cause it?
The answer is “D”.

You had no control over what happened with the coffee. How you reacted in those 5 seconds is what caused your bad day.

Here is what could have and should have happened.

Coffee splashes over you. Your daughter is about to cry. You gently say, “Its ok honey, you just need to be more careful next time”. Grabbing a towel you rush upstairs. After grabbing a new shirt and your briefcase, you come back down in time to look through the window and see your child getting on the bus. She turns and waves. You arrive 5 minutes early and cheerfully greet the staff. Your boss comments on how good the day you are having.”

So, here we can notice the difference.

The way things began were same but, both ended in a different way. The major reason being “the reaction to the particular situation”.

You did not have a control over what happened initially but the you had control over what happened in succession.

Thus I understood that if we reacts properly it does not have a bad repercussion on us. The result of a wrong reaction could be losing a friend, being fired, getting stressed out etc and finally ruining the day.

So, why not follow ‘The 90/10 principle”; try to control the 90% that is in our hands and leave that rest 10% that we cannot control.

The significance of globe
The presence of the earth in the logo is to portray the global professional off-shore outsourcing company, dealing with projects from all over the world.

Why the company is named “Pune IT Labs”
Why is the company named “Pune IT Labs”.. This might be a question in the mind of a lot of people working in the company as well as those outside the company. The Name here were well signifies that the company is situated in one of the technology hub i.e in pune ; “IT” because the company’s main focus is information technology and “Labs” because the company provides its employees the environment to learn along with the opportunity to be innovative in their own unique way.

Why the tagline is “ Creative Factory”
The tagline is “Creative Factory” as it provides opportunity to all its employees’ for being creative and innovative. And has its expertise in  a variety of open source technologies which include php frameworks, CMSs’, CRMs’ etc.

My Experience
Its been 4 months since I am doing by internship at “Pune IT Labs Private Limited”  and have found a very co-operative, work friendly environment providing an opportunity to learn things according to our choice.  Being here I thought that people should be well aware of the concept of the very basic thing i.e the logo and its meaning.

Reason for a life time

   Posted by: krity   in Self-composed

Can you imagine what life holds for you,
Do you know who is going to come into your life,
What meaning do they have for to you ,
Its hard to understand.
Its hard to realize.

And when you realize, what they are here for,
you can guess for how long they would be in your life.
They are always with you to be your support,
at all the hard times.
They become an important part of your life,
When you really need them.

People come into you life and then go away,
We should realize that they are with you for a reason,
A strong reason to behold,
A Reason to teach you,
A Reason to bring varid experiences in life,
Some are so good that you never wanna forget them,
Some are so bad that you are always willing to forget them,

People come into your life at various stages,
They be your support for some time,
When their work seem to be over,
They tend to go away from your life,

Every experience teaches you a lot of things,
Every experience is for you to learn from,
Every experience brings you to tough times,
But everytime you find some one to support you ,
To bring you out if those tough times.

An optimistic thinking is always beneficial,
..ignorance is never a bliss,
Be positive, work hard and believe in your self,
You will find yourself in a light,
Away from all dullness in life.

Experience at twitter meetup on 7th Feb.’09

Posted by: krity   in My experiences

To start with “it was a wonderful experience to meet the other tweetereres who were present at CCD, FC Road” . About 65 people had joined for the Twitter meetup.. I was there at the meeting sharp at 7 pm. About 10 people were already present. Slowly a lot of people had started arriving and at the  end there was hardly any place for people to sit. Thanks to CCD for providing us with a place where we could accomodate our-selves and make us comfortable to have the discusssions.  Vishal and Aman were there to give updates about the twitter meet. There were also people like Hussain and myself who were also constantly giving update about the meet through the mobile web. The mobile phone turned to be helpful in such a case. Various people like Mr.Navin Kabra, Mr. Rohan, Mr.Dhananjay and Mr. Anupam Sharaf (CIO,Pune) were the prominent people who had their views on twitter and how could it be a useful tool for various purposes like business and personal usage. Mr. Sharaf also spoke about how we could make use of twitter to make Pune a better place to live in.

Thanks to the Organisers for the effort and pain they had taken to organise this meeting as it had been really useful for us.

The twit people got featured in Sunday’s Pune Mirror(8th feb ‘09).   I did not think that whatever I had told would be quoted in the paper but there is a small error, The newspaper people have mis-spelt my name. Its not as I had epained the spelling of my name to them.

The twitter meetup news was also featured in DNA on Monday (9th feb,’09) and in Indian Express on tuesday (10th feb, ‘09)

Over all the twitter meet up was a medium to know more people and have a
social networking. Like I know a lot of people through twitter but this was a place where I could meet those people and know them personally.

- Happy twitting

The Lonely Road…

   Posted by: krity   in Self-composed

As I walk along the forever lonely road
Thoughts of you collide in my mind, and I can’t get them out

As I walk along the forever lonely road
My eyes start to play tricks on me, and I believe them

As I walk along the forever lonely road
I try to reach out to you, but in vain.

As I walk along the forever lonely road
I can hear your voice calling to me, and I can’t resist

As i walk along the forever lonely road
I can see you, but I cannot turn around to reach out to you

As I walk along the open road,
Life feels so lonely without you

Volunteering for clubhack2008

Posted by: krity   in My experiences

Sorry for being late in posting my experience during clubhack as my laptop had no net connection.

Well the actual volunteering activity for Clubhack2008 started when I was selected as a voluneer on the day of barcamp pune 5. Thanks to Rohit for giving me the opportunity for serving as a volunteer for the event again just like the previous year. I would also like to thank Rohit for acknownleding me for  the wallpaper of backtrack that was designed by me and also asked me to design some chicklets for the event. The date for the event was 6th and 7th dec ‘08. It was really fun to volunteer for the event for the two days. Thanks to Rohit for his support throughout the event. He had ade it easy for us to interact with the speakers through a common dinner where we had the opportunity to interact with most of the speakers. This dinner was on the 1st day of the event so that most of us could attend it. The 1st day was more hectic compared to the second day since all the talks were to be held on the 1st day and the 2nd day only comprised of workshops so the comfusion was a little lesser on the 2nd day, but 2nd day was more anjoyable ’cause we were able to attend the workshop and learn a lot of useful and nteresting things. All the volunteers indeed had played a major role in making the event a successful one. Overall, it was a wonderful experience to be a part of the clubhack volunteer team and work for the event clubhack2008.

Happy volunteering…:)
